Terry O’Sullivan delivers annual James Connolly Memorial Lecture
General President Emeritus of the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA) Terry O’Sullivan delivered the annual James Connolly Memorial Lecture on Thursday, August 3rd.
To a full auditorium, he provided insight into issues which affect working classes in Ireland, the United States, and around the world.
“Trade unionism is the greatest anti-poverty initiative ever devised.”
“A new generation of workers in the US is beginning to understand the power of activism, solidarity, and collective bargaining. Today my union - LIUNA - is more powerful than ever in our 120 year old history.”
“The Irish Republic of which Connolly dreamed is within our reach, because our yearning for freedom and self-determination is inalienable, invincible and immortal.”
“I am proud to say our President’s commitment to the peace process is just as strong as his commitment to organised labour.”
