“We need a real republic like never before. An All-island 32 County republic. Irish Unity.”

Sinn Féin President Mary Lou McDonald

Sinn Féin today met in Dublin to plan in advance of the start of the new Dáil (Irish Parliament) term.

The party leads in opinion polls North and South but takes nothing for granted. Since the foundation of the state Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael have led governments. In the last election, Sinn Féin emerged as the largest party.

The reaction of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael was to form a coalition to keep Sinn Féin out of government.

But the old politics and policies of these parties continue to fail the people in housing, health care, and rising costs. These parties prospered under the partition of Ireland and have refused to plan for unity for over a century.

The Sinn Féin President, Mary Lou McDonald is the first woman to lead the official opposition in the history of the Dáil. Sinn Féin is the alternative to Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil.

The people want change and increasing numbers are looking to Sinn Féin to deliver.

On the eve of returning to the Dáil, Mary Lou led out the Sinn Féin stall,

“We are now heading back to the Dáil to debate the decisions and ideas for Ireland’s future. Our people - north and south - want a better and fairer Ireland.

The desire for change burns brighter than ever before. Sinn Féin is the party of change. Sinn Féin is the party that will give our people a fresh start.

Tá aisling againn d'Éireann atá bunaithe ar chomhionannas, cothrom na Féinne agus aontacht.

We want to lead a government that puts workers and families first, not vested interests or golden circles. Our people want leadership with ideas, with vision and an ambition that matches theirs.

We need a real republic like never before. An All-island 32 County republic. Irish Unity.

Our teams in the Dáil and the Assembly are working for change right across the island.”
